Retail is Going GREEN…
April 3, 2008 at 2:31 pm | In Business Ideas, In General | | Get this via emailWe've been keeping a big secret, but I think we're finally ready to share the news..
This summer we're launching a bi-annual supplement to GIFT SHOP called GREEN Retailer, a magazine committed to the success of the eco-friendly gift store owner. Our mission is to be an essential business resource for gift store owners who are beginning to implement green strategies and for those who have already incorporated these sustainable practices.
I'm very excited about our new project! Eco-friendly products are growing by leaps and bounds in the consumer marketplace. Not only is this trend a great opportunity for you to provide your customers with what they want, it's also a chance to increase sales while helping to save our planet.

Green Group Consultants is a green retail consulting business located in the Chicago area and I would be interested in an advertisement in your publication.

This is so true Patricia! Were you able to attend the Seattle Green Festival this past weekened? We at Enlightened Play! debuted our game EcoRanch to a huge crowd of customers. It was my first green festival (first show really aside from NYC Toy Fair) and I was completely overwhelmed…in a good way! The thousands who attended were very aware of product ingredients, social responsibilities and the greatest thing of all…they're teaching those values to their kids. Please keep us up to date on green events so we are all tuned in and on board. Thanks.

Eileen,
I didn't attend the Seattle Green Festival. I'm sorry I missed it. Sounds like it was a fantastic event. We'll be publishing a list of green trade shows (if not in the magazine, then on our website). Stay tuned. Thank you for your interest!

Patricia,
I just happened upon this story…is the magazine in publication yet? I've been involved in the retail/wholesale sales of green building products for over 15 years. Late last year, I launched Degree of Green as a educational tool for consumers searching for truly green materials, without the greenwashing. I would love to talk to you about our system. Good luck with the magazine!
